Summary

A vision for the development of Lynn Valley Town Center was affirmed through the 2011 Official Community Plan (OCP) process, a two-year public process involving thousands of citizens, stakeholders, and businesses. The vision protects existing Lynn Valley neighborhoods and the natural environment by focusing growth and change in the town center. The District of North Vancouver wished to engage a broad cross section of the community on four potential scenarios which will shape the future of Lynn Valley.

The District of North Vancouver in collaboration with Golder Associates conducted a project to explore four potential options for the town center each with different building forms, heights, parks, and amenities. MetroQuest was used remotely via the web and with iPads at community events to collect community input on priorities, design options and preferences plus alternatives on building, parks/greenways, public spaces, streetscapes and landscapes. In conjunction with several public events, MetroQuest was able to collect feedback from over 1,400 respondents in just a few weeks increasing the depth and breadth of the overall engagement.

“Really great job on the Lynn Valley MetroQuest site. This is what I always hoped we would be able to achieve. MetroQuest allowed us to increase the depth and breadth of our overall engagement.”

“Working with the MetroQuest team was a pleasure. You made online engagement easy for us as it was our first time and your team delivered under extreme time pressure and deadlines.”
