MetroQuest Overview
Municipalities and planning agencies use MetroQuest to educate and communicate the long-term impacts of the various policy choices to non-expert audiences, leaving them with a sense of ownership over the result.
MetroQuest allows stakeholders to
set their priorities,
try different planning choices and
see future consequences related to their priorities.
This sets the stage for stakeholders to have a
meaningful discussion about future plans and
send feedback to planners.
With MetroQuest, stakeholders can more easily understand the long-term effects of present-day policy choices. Complex planning concepts are translated into user-friendly images and animations. Integrated models show the connections between issues such as fiscal health, sustainability, air quality and the many other things that communities care about.
MetroQuest is based on 10 years of university research validated and refined by over a decade of work with
municipal and regional clients.
More about us.
MetroQuest can be used:
- In workshops with participants using wireless voting keypads to create scenarios in real-time.
- On the web by members of the public unable to attend scheduled meetings, and by planners to collect input from the public, and promote upcoming workshops.
- On kiosks distributed in locations such as parks, sports arenas, transit stations, libraries, community centers and other high traffic areas.
MetroQuest is useful whenever stakeholders need to grapple with complex planning decisions.
Three main applications for MetroQuest are
Regional Growth Planning,
Greenhouse Gas Reduction and
Transit-Oriented Development.
